June 2025 - Baby season has begun......
Leigh and Roy......
The first rescued babies of the season were Leigh and Roy. Here they are at 3 weeks old and now feeding themselves. They continued to do well and at six weeks were first soft released into outside pen with a nest box for two weeks before being released back into the garden where they were found.
The Norcross four......
These four babies were rescued from a garden in Norcross after being found out during the daytime with no sign of Mum. A dead hedgehog had been seen on a nearby road so it was assumed it was sadly her. Rescued at two weeks old, here they are at four weeks.
Jackie......
Baby 'Jackie' was rescued on 26th June from a garden in Poulton after he was found in a hole dug by a visiting dog. He was five weeks old. On admission he was icy cold, unresponsive and had flystrike. Fly eggs removed, warmed sub cut fluids given. He was made comfortable and warm on a heat mat and was taking limited formula hand feeds but he remained very poorly.
The following day I was really expecting the worst but he was up on his feet and feeding! He is continuing to do well.

Dave......
This is baby 'Dave' - Jackie's little brother who was rescued from the same garden as he was seen wandering around during the daytime. This is one grumpy little hedgehog, 95gms of pure attitude!
