Tales from Lancashire Hedgehog Care

'Becky'

This very rare champagne blonde albino hedgehog was found trapped down a hole on a construction site.  Becky is a permanent resident at the Centre as she would not survive for long in the wild. Her very light colour makes her open to attack from night time predators such as foxes and dogs. She also has a low immune system and therefore more susceptible to disease.

'3 Babies'

A huge amount of time and effort goes into the hand rearing and releasing of baby hedgehogs.  These three babies were brought to us from Garstang after being abandoned by their Mum.  All three weighed less than 100gms and stood no chance of surviving on their own without help.  They remained with us right through the winter months and have now all been released back into the wild.
